In Ireland, Kerry Blue Terriers have often been used as police dogs. The Kerry Blue Terrier is the National Terrier of Ireland. Kerry Blue Terriers are named after County Kerry, Ireland, which is supposed to be their place of origin, however, they are actually from Tipperarry. Kerry Blue Terriers are excellent ratters.
